Privacy Policy

Account details: your email address, display name and, if you sign in with Google, your profile picture. If you sign up with email, your password is stored only as a secure hash.

Learning data you create: saved clips, word lists, the words you add to them, and videos or channels you suggest to the corpus (including your display name as contributor credit when a suggestion goes live).

Plan status: whether you are on the Free or Pro plan and your PayPal subscription ID. We never receive or store your card or bank details. PayPal handles them under its own privacy policy.

Basic usage data, such as search queries and the number of AI explanations requested. We use it to enforce plan limits and improve search results.

On the Free plan, shadowing recordings stay only in your browser on your device (IndexedDB) and are never uploaded. On Pro, takes are stored privately in our cloud storage so they sync across your devices; only you can play them. You can delete any take at any time.

When you request an explanation or definition, the selected caption text and surrounding lines are sent to our AI provider to generate the answer. We do not send your name or email with these requests.

We use a session cookie to keep you signed in, and local storage to remember your theme, saved clips (when signed out) and recordings.

Videos are embedded from YouTube, which may set its own cookies under Google's privacy policy.

Only to run MalMoa: signing you in, syncing your saved items, processing subscriptions, crediting contributions and sending service emails to administrators. We do not sell your data or use it for advertising.

You can delete saved clips, word lists, words, recordings and pending contributions at any time inside the app. You can cancel a Pro subscription anytime from the Pricing page.

You can reset your progress or delete your account anytime in Settings. To request a copy of your data, email annyeongmalmoa@gmail.com.
